Margo was elected as President of the Board in 2013, previously serving as Director. She is also a Director with the Atlantic Chamber of Commerce. Working in Business Development for Cabot Community Business Development Corporation for the last 14 years, has allowed her to serve in various capacities, centered around entrepreneurship and economic development. She is an advocate for business development and passionate in encouraging people, particularly youth, to call Newfoundland home, to help strengthen our communities and see them proposer.
An active volunteer with a number of groups including Imagine Paradise, the Main Street Business Improvement Association of CBS, Junior Achievement, Holy Family Parish’s Finance Committee, as well as work spanning over a decade with the Canada Revenue Agency and their Community Volunteer Income Tax Program. Margo holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Certificate in Public Administration from Memorial University of Newfoundland in addition to a Non-Profit Management Certification from Mount Royal University, among other accounting and business related certifications and courses. She is currently in the process of obtaining an International Small Business Counsellor Certification.
In her spare time she enjoys reading, volleyball, and running…and plenty more running thanks to a toddler on the go.
Michael has been a Director of the CBA Chamber Board since 2013, and has been a loyal Chamber member for as long as we can remember! He’s the proud owner of Michael’s Jewellery, which currently enjoying its 19th year in business, and is a true, family run operation. Over the years he has participated in numerous sessions on small business and the retail sector and has attended trade shows that have taken him across North America.
Michael and his team have a strong presence in the community and have been major supporters of nearly every event that CBA Chamber has hosted. He enjoys instilling entrepreneurial interests in youth and has been a regular judge at regional entrepreneurship showcases over the years. His company has been quite generous in giving back to the community and sponsoring business and community minded-events in the region – all as thanks for the support he has received over the years.
Having learned about many business aspects first-hand and building a success business from the ground up, Michael is passionate about sharing his knowledge with other business owners. He recently joined the Board of Directors with CBDC Cabot where he plays a key role in assisting existing and aspiring entrepreneurs secure financing for their business interests. Think Dragon’s Den, but better – and yes, he’s one of the ‘good’ dragons.
Peter Gosse joined as Director of the CBA Chamber Board in 2016. Peter has lived and worked in Conception Bay South for over a decade. He began his career in software development back in 2002 while working for the Eastern School District. Following this, he left the province to work for one of the largest technology companies in the world, IBM, but like many Newfoundland is too strong a bond to leave for long! In returning to the province, he led design efforts at Consilient Technologies, a promising start up based in St. John’s and San Francisco. He also served with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation to expand their digital news offering.
No stranger to multi-tasking, his time is now split as Senior Product Developer with BlueLight Analytics as well as a Director with Seawater Media. CBA Chamber Board and staff are delighted to have Peter and his expertise join our team.
Andrea joined as Director of the CBA Chamber Board in 2017. With deep roots in the Town of CBS, Andrea and her husband Tony, owners of Platinum Construction are active community volunteers and continue to serve in a number of volunteer Board capacities.
Curtis was raised in Conception Bay South and continues to live there today. His career in the insurance industry began in 1997 and since then he has obtained his Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker and Chartered Insurance Professional designation. In 2001, Curtis joined the Cal LeGrow family and has been with them ever since.
Outside of the office, Curtis is actively involved in many sports, playing on teams in both the softball and hockey recreational leagues. He also has a deep-rooted love for traditional Irish and Newfoundland music, and was a member of a local band for a number of years. His passion for music is something that he has proudly passed down to both of his daughters, (age 11 and 8).

Krista House — Ex-officio Municipal Representative
Krista has worked with the Town of Conception Bay South as an Economic Development Coordinator since 2014, and began attending Chamber meetings as an ex-officio Municipal Representative that same year. She has spent most of her professional career working with businesses, community groups and organizations, schools, and municipalities in both private and non-profit roles. She is constantly seeking new partnership opportunities and looking for innovative ways to engage current partners. Krista sees the Chamber as an excellent resource for the local business community, not only in Conception Bay South, but throughout the entire region.
Jennifer Penney — Ex-officio Municipal Representative
Jennifer has a passion for business development, an eye for detail, and a strong focus on customer service and relationship building. She strives to provide a supportive environment in which to start and grow businesses and is eager to connect with local businesses through her Economic Development role with the Town of Paradise, as well as through her work with the CBA Chamber of Commerce and the Mount Pearl-Paradise Chamber of Commerce.
Jennifer has 15 years of economic development experience, working closely with entrepreneurs to plan, start and grow businesses at the grassroots level. Prior to her time at the Town of Paradise, Jennifer worked for the City of Cambridge, specializing in small business development, giving her a unique perspective and understanding of the business community’s needs.
Jennifer is a Certified Economic Developer (Ec.D) through the Economic Developers Association of Canada, holds a Certificate in Economic Development through the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts through Memorial University. She is the Vice President of the Economic Developers Association of Newfoundland and Labrador, and a member of the Economic Developers Association of Canada, as well as ex-officio board member for both the CBA Chamber of Commerce and the Mount Pearl–Paradise Chamber of Commerce.
During her free time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband and family, sewing, painting and all other things “crafty”, and being a proud mommy to her daughter, Hannah.
